Walk an SPCA Dog in the Maple Hill Holiday Parade!
Love dogs? Love parades? Then this is the perfect holiday combo for you!
We’re looking for 10 awesome volunteers to walk SPCA dogs in the Maple Hill Holiday Parade this year! It’s one of our favorite events of the season — a fun, festive day full of wagging tails, smiling faces, and community cheer.
Meet at: SPCA (at 9:30 AM)
Parade lineup: 10:45 AM at 450 E. Lovell Street
Parade starts: 11:00 AM
Here’s how it’ll go:
-
Arrive at the SPCA at 9:30 AM, and we’ll pair you up with your walking buddy for the day.
-
Take your dog for a little pre-parade walk around the SPCA to let them use the bathroom and get their wiggles out.
-
Head over to downtown Kalamazoo for the parade lineup (volunteers will be transporting their parade dog to and from the event. We will provide carriers and blankets to those that would like them).
(If it’s chilly, you can hang out in your car until lineup time!) -
The parade starts at 11 AM — we’re in the middle of the lineup, so it’ll take a bit before we start moving.
The dogs in the parade will all be walkable sizes — from playful 4-month-olds to steady seniors who can handle the 2-mile route.
Our pups will be dressed in their holiday best — little reindeer ears and cozy coats or fleeces — and we can’t wait to show them off to the community!
This is a wonderful way to spread joy, represent the SPCA, and enjoy a fun, heartwarming day surrounded by furry friends and fellow animal lovers.
